Project 365 - Photo of the Day - February 10, 2008

Rachel was working on a school project for her AP Psychology class. She had to identify all parts of the brain. So she went to Sally's Beauty Supply and bought a styrofoam head and with different colored pipe cleaners made the shape of the each part of the brain. I loved the intense concentration on her face and the mass of different colors spread out on the dining room table.



Later in the morning, Joel and I were on the way out to do some shopping and we came across a scene right out of Animal Planet! The night before someone had hit a possum with their car. When we walked out there were about ten turkey vultures sitting in the tree, on the roofs and circling overhead. It was gross but truly amazing to watch. We were mesmerized for about an hour watching the birds drag the dead animal into the street from the lawn and then take turns eating it. These are the shots that I took over the course of that hour.
