A Visit with the Cousins
I had a little surprise last night! For the past two weeks I knew that my cousin Roger, who lives in Detroit, was coming for a visit last night. He comes down to Florida on business and almost always comes over to the east coast to visit my Dad and Elaine and Joel and me. The ritual is to go out to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. So that was all planned.
When Joel and I walked out of the house to get into the car, we were pleasantly surprised to see my cousin, Peggy, in the car with Roger! Peggy lives in Naples. We usually get together once or twice a year. But it was a very nice surprise. I jumped into the car with Roger and Peggy and Joel got into the car with my Dad and Elaine.
We talked a mile a minute on the way to the restaurant trying to catch up!. We all grew up together in the Rockaways. There wasn't a holiday that we didn't spend at one of the aunts or uncle's houses. The big one was Passover. The table usually held about 25 - 30 people and we stretched from the dining room almost into the hallway near the living room of Roger's parent's house.
After our dinner of salad and pizza, oh yeah and some alcohol, we talked until about 9 p.m. and then ended up back at my Dad's house. It was a warm, comfortable evening, surrounded by familiar faces. It is always like no time passes at all.
So today when I heard that they were all heading off to breakfast, we threw on the first thing out of the closet and joined them. That was after I took a walk around the complex with my cameras. We continued our conversations from last night for another couple of hours. That should hold us for a while!
I liked the early morning light coming in through the blinds on my colorful pitchers.
It was about 7 a.m.

Can't start my day without my French Pressed coffee!
