Project 365 - April 20, 2025

 The Charlie's Angels Reunion

Finally, after many years, Samantha, Yvette, and I aligned our schedules and we got together this weekend for a girls' slumber party at Yvette's house.

The three of us worked together in the early 2000s and have always stayed in touch.  We got together in twos, but never all three of us.

When we worked together at the Broward Cultural Division, we called ourselves Charlie's Angels. We were a dream team.  Samantha was our writer, Yvette was our creative designer, and I was the marketing director. And we won so, so, so many awards from the National Association of County Information Officers and National Association of Counties to the Advertising Federation! There were years when we won more awards than the Public Information Office for Broward County!!

On one of these award trips, I took this photo of our shadows as we were getting ready to attend the regional Advertising Federation awards ceremony in Orlando. We all agreed that we looked like Charlie's Angels! So it stuck, and that's how we referred to ourselves.

Well, last night we arrived at Yvette's house (Bill -- her husband-- was away since he is a pilot) armed with pillows, food, and adult beverages. We sat out in the backyard, which overlooks a beautiful estuary with plenty of wildlife, enticing me to make many images.

I included a photo of the front of the house to show you the beautiful driveway that Bill installed, along with the ocean theme of the entire house.

Here is a picture of what we looked like in 2005 at the awards ceremony.

Back to last night . . . We nibbled on various cheeses, meats and grapes and sipped our beverages of choice as we, VERY LOUDLY, began to make up for many years.

We stayed out there until the sun sank down behind the homes, and we could barely see each other.  So we decided it was time for dinner.  And it was lovely. Barbequed steaks and portobello mushrooms with a huge salad with homemade salad dressing.

Our conversation continued well into the early morning, and we had to eventually and reluctantly go to sleep.

I was the first one up and I made the coffee and sat out back and enjoyed the cool breezes, the overcast skies and the birds and butterflies entertaining me until the ladies joined me on the back patio.

No one was really hungry until about noon, and that is when I jumped into the kitchen to make a ricotta, spinach and tomato fritatta. I had baked a banana bread and brought that.  Samanatha brought tuna salad and Yvette had bagels, cream cheese, tomatos and of course, mimosas courtesy of Samanatha!!

We ate, sipped and gabbed until about 2pm when we all decided it was time for us to part.  But not before we all shared photos!  Here are the ones that I liked the best.
